This classic Charleston wedding is so full of style I can hardly stand it: from the bride’s timeless Vera Wang gown to the soft neutral color palette of grey, ivory, gold and blush… and OH the garden roses… How I love those garden roses! This stylish bride is the talented wedding designer behind South Florida’s Kellie Ryan Designs, so I expected nothing less. It is always such an honor when respected wedding industry professionals trust us to photograph their wedding days!

We began this wedding day at Kellie’s parents house right on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, where she was spending time with her bridesmaids, stylishly lounging in their Plum Pretty Sugar robes. From there, the ladies got dressed and we made the short trip over to Lowndes Grove Plantation, a beautiful Charleston wedding venue located right on the water. The guys were already there, looking ever so dapper in their Vera Wang tuxedos. Kellie and Christopher decided to see each other before their wedding ceremony so that we could take most of their posed photos before the ceremony and to ease any nerves that might have arisen before going in front of the congregation. With this polished, fun-loving wedding party, the group photo session was more like a party than a photo shoot. One of the groomsmen played music on his phone and the group laughed together and truly celebrated the adorable bride and groom.

The cocktail hour was complete with crab claws and string music (Charleston Virtuosi), and the couple watched the sunset over the water, hand in hand. The toasts were lively and tasteful, and after a fabulous lowcountry dinner from Fish Catering, Ben Fagan and the Charleston Groove Factory kept the dance floor full. I cannot imagine how this day could have been any more joyous or well-executed! (Big hugs to The Burlap Elephant for keeping things organized, Charleston Blooms for the gorgeous flowers, Cakes by Kasarda for the lovely cake, and Paper Dolls for the superb hair and makeup! Such a great team!)

It’s easy to notice bride is wedding designer. Very stylish and emotional. You have caught it as well. Great job!
