One of my favorite weddings I have had the pleasure of photographing. A quintessential Charleston affair, infused with mingling cultural elements from Ståle’s Norwegian heritage and Sydney’s southern American roots. Especially fantastic styled elements included Sydney’s Judd Waddell gown and the beautiful cake that mimicked the dress’s design (by DeClare Cakes); Ståle’s kransekake (Norwegian wedding cake, also by DeClare Cakes); the soft neutral color palette of ivory and gold (flowers by BLOOM); gorgeous styling by Wedding Hair by Charlotte; and the palmetto roses at each place setting. Of course I was beside myself with the opportunity for a sunset bride and groom photo session at Waterfront Park.
The ceremony was held in a courtyard garden at the Charleston Place Hotel, complete with a “Phantom of the Opera” duet, a string quartet, and a baby grand piano. Passersby in the street stopped to witness the beauty, and I got chills when I heard Sydney recite her vows in perfect Norwegian, much to her groom’s surprise. A small grouping of close friends and family shared in the couple’s genuine joy, and the sweetness of the occasion was amplified by the toasts shared by the groom, the best man, and the father of the bride. It really was a perfect day and I feel honored to have been able to photograph it.

Wow, what a beautiful documentation of a lovely day. Amazing!!!! I LOVE it!!!
this is simply wonderful! just amazing.
This is my most favourite wedding session EVER. It is just flawless. From the bride’s dress to the looks the bride and groom exchange to the black and whites. (And I’m not just saying this because I’m Norwegian, okay maybe a small part of it : ) Excellent capture of some very beautiful people. : )
