Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the tiny details of a wedding day–what the flower girl is wearing, how the guests will know where to sit, or how to mark the bride and groom’s exit from the reception… I am not opposed to couples infusing their personality and distinctive style into their wedding day; in fact, that is one of the things that makes my job as a wedding photographer quite interesting. However, the couples who are drawn to my work tend to be couples who are intent on being fully present no matter what their wedding day brings, and for that I am so thankful. After all, no amount of checking the weather radar will change what the clouds are doing. But the love and joy surrounding a bride and groom on their wedding day is the same, regardless of the skies, so let us not forget what we came here for.

Lindsay and Cody’s outdoor Savannah wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The rain came and went and came again, and the bride and groom opened their umbrella and smiled like they had never been happier. The rain poured down, as these two laughed and cried together and allowed their family and friends to shower them with love, in genuine celebration. It was as though they were oblivous to the weather. They came to celebrate finding a love that will be the foundation of their future… And celebrate they did.

Many warm thanks to the team who helped make this wedding day so lovely:
